51.CAJ102 J. Leiva Zoco 2.0 Cajon (New Design)
Leiva Zoco 2.0 Cajon, boasting a new front tapa design features twin external DTS snare adjusters &
four internal snare wires (identical to Leiva Mezquita & Medina
Cajons) & is supplied with a padded protective carrying bag
at no extra cost.
The Zoco family are the best sounding introductory cajons available from any manufacturer, producing cutting highs & powerful bass tones. With the additional snare wires & their placement the Zoco 2.0 cajon produces a thicker, fatter, more prominent snare sound & offers increased variety of sounds over the Zoco & Zoco Sweet Spot cajons. A coated mdf body eliminates the boxy mid-tones prevalent on many entry level cajons. All birch tapa (front) face ensures cracking, cutting, distinct high tones.
The Leiva Zoco 2.0 cajon produces a solid, probably more pop-orientated sound
(although it is by no means restricted to such application) with powerful, punchy & focussed bass tones,
aided by location of the sound hole towards the bottom of the rear face.
The broad dynamic (tonal & volume) range is well-balanced across playing intensities & it is also possible to produce high tones with very little or no bass component & bass tones with little or no high tone component or snare rattle. Zoco cajons certainly produce plenty of 'bark' when high intensity playing is needed.
The more mellow sound of the shell still allows a wide variety of effects, clicks, pops & snaps to be easily interspersed within your playing, again in great balance with the other tones; clearly standing out without dominating or getting lost.
As shown in the photograph left (click image to enlarge), adjustment of the internal snare wires is easily made using the two external DTS adjustment knobs on the rear of the body.
So, you can customise the cajon to your own sound & individual needs during playing or recording. Changing from a tighter, funkier sound, to a more gritty, rattly snare sound for ballads etc is quick & easy.
All-in-all, the J. Leiva Zoco 2.0 Cajon a great cajon for either newcomer to the instrument or for the musician who wants an excellent sound with a little extra flexibility, without breaking the bank :)
All Leiva cajons stand-out from the competition regarding value for money, balance of sounds & enjoyment to play. When you buy from us, we either visit the UK importer directly & choose a cajon that we'd be happy to play live or in a recording situation for you or we take you to choose your own.
'Superb service and communication throughout
and even offers of a follow-up should we need advice about the instrument.
We are very happy customers and highly recommend to others.'
